Täna me kuskile ei sõitnud.
Today we didn’t ride anywhere. The plan was to hike around our campsite. The nature here is beautiful – the campsite sits on a peninsula, and a stormy sea wraps around it. We set off from the village, passed the fish restaurant and headed on towards the windy shore.
The shore was covered in stones of every kind – big ones, small ones. And on top of that they came in very different colours: reds, yellowish ones, greyish ones. A strong wind blew in at the mouth of the bay, threatening to sweep the cap right off your head.

Edasi suundusime mööda matkarada, mis kulges paralleelselt mereäärega. Sellel rajal oli meie jaoks kaetud mustikate rootsi laud – mets oli päris paksult mustikaid täis, mida võis aeg-ajalt vabalt suhu torgata. Mida me ka tegime.
From there we carried on along the hiking trail, which ran parallel to the shoreline. A blueberry smorgasbord had been laid out for us along it – the forest was thick with berries, and now and then you could simply pop one in your mouth. Which we did.
Besides blueberries there were bog bilberries, lingonberries and crowberries, so the spread really was a generous one.

Aga me läksime julgelt mööda matkarada edasi.
Walking was not exactly comfortable, since the path essentially ran across stones. Some were loose and round, others a little more solid. But we pressed on along the trail undaunted.
The best part was perhaps the stormy sea. At the tip of the peninsula the wind blew straight in off the open water, and the waves broke and played against the shore. It did leave you feeling that in weather like this you wouldn’t fancy going for a swim.

On the shore there were also some old archaeological remains, said to be the sites of fishermen’s huts from long ago – stones laid out in circles, and sometimes in squares. What those huts actually looked like nobody knows, because the whole thing is at least a thousand years old.
What struck us was how empty the trail was – at times it felt as though we were the only people walking there. In the end we did see three others. There is probably something else worth seeing around here that people go to look at. But since we were having a motorcycle-free day, for us this was a very, very pleasant walk in the forest and by the sea.

Läksime sinna, tellisime fish and chips’i, veidike õlut, veidike veini – ja saimegi kõhud täis. Vot selline tore päev meil täna oli.
After the walk it turned out we had worked up an appetite, and luckily there was a fine fish restaurant right next to our campsite. We went in, ordered fish and chips, a little beer, a little wine – and that filled us up. So that was the sort of lovely day we had today.
